Type gpedit.msc in RUN or Start search box and press Enter. Now you have successfully turned off Live tiles feature for all apps on Start Screen in Windows 8 and later. Maybe it's time to switch. All your data and built-in apps will remain, but you'll have to reinstall any third-party apps.

This is definitely a last resort as it will reset all your PC settings. If you're using a local user account in Windows 8, you could also just try logging in with your Microsoft account and vice versa. Ok, as promised, here it is. Windows allows you to disable Live tile preview feature for a particular tile. It gives a kind of warning, but you can continue on and it does detect the problems and automatically tries to repair them. weblink Mail sometimes shows latest message on the tile but it wont disappear when marked as read, so again fix is to restart the phone and have dead live tile. 05-21-2016 03:56
I implemented the registry changes suggested here on my new ASUS laptop, running Windows 8.1, but when I shut down and restarted and logged into Administrator account, I still got the To delete these cached live previews as well, you can follow these simple steps: 1.
