I'm now going to attempt to update all the drivers and pull the HDMI cable to see if the display stays on. Workaround Hold the power button for several seconds to turn the system off first. Run bootrec /fixmbr from Windows Recovery Media. It shows 2 options launch startup repair and start normally.
