I've downloaded driver updates for two days. I updated my Realtek driver with the latest one from their website, but that's alone is not enough. Altec Lansing says the speakers need no sound card driver. I can't figure out how to do this tweak you mention. i could see the audio device working properly and when i play music i could also see the volume bar moving but there just isn't any sound coming out. However the Digital Output I see from the sound playback is animated when I play music in the media player. Start the computer and check for sound.
